Types of Batteries for Electric Scooters and Bikes

There are three types of batteries to choose from for your electric scooter or electric bike:

• • Sealed lead acid battery (SLA)
  • Nickel metal hydride battery (NiMH)
  • Lithium-ion battery (LIB)

Most electric scooters and bikes use a sealed lead acid battery. A sealed battery means there's no ongoing maintenance to worry about. It's also fully enclosed, which means it's spill proof and reduces the risk of acid spilling out and causing injury or damage to your scooter.
